Jiri to Everest Base Camp trek


Jiri to Everest Base Camp trek is one of the most popular trek routes in the world - a once in a lifetime adventure travel hike in the company of inspiring and breathtaking Himalayan scenery. It is worth pointing out that the walk - in from Jiri offers much benefit through gradual altitude acclimatization as well as a very special experience in getting to know the countryside lifestyle of this region and their Buddhist culture, rather than direct flight to Lukla. Populated by the Sherpa, the attraction of this area are the majestic mountains, the high mountain villages, charming monasteries and congenial people. This area includes the highest mountain in the world Mount Everest, the alpine forests, glacial rivers and amazing rhododendron and pine forests.
The trail from Jiri to Namche passes through numerous interesting villages that are now visited by a small number of trekkers each year. While on the trek, we also pass through the alpine forests, glacial rivers, and enjoy the warm hospitality of ethnic people. The trail passes through numerous villages of different ethnic groups including Tamang, Jirel, Rai, Brahmin, Chettri and of course the Sherpa's. Visit the Buddhist monasteries with prayer flags, the Sherpa and other ethnic villages with their simple yet rich mountain lifestyles. The views are gorgeous, and walking in the Himalayas proves to be quite an intense experience. Jiri Everest Base Camp trekking is best for acclimatize as the trail goes slowly higher and higher, after having rest day at Namche Bazaar, trails continues for famous active Monastery at Khumbu Region, Tengboche Monastery where trekkers will be rewarded by the panoramic view of Everest (8848m), Cho Oyu (8152m), Lhotse (8516m), Makalu (8463m) and AmaDablam (6456m), Thamserkku and many other surroundings mountain. At Everest Base Camp you will also have the chance to have a close look at the spectacular Khumbu Icefall.

Day 03 - Drive Kathmandu to Bhandar via Jiri
Day 04 - Bhandar to Sete(2575m): 6/7 hrs.
Day 05 - Sete trek to Junbesi(2670 ), 6/7 hrs.
Day 06 - Junbesi trek to Nunthala (2220m): 6 hrs.
Day 07 - Nunthala to Bupsa (2360 m), 5/6 hrs.
Day 08 - Bupsa to Surke (2290m), 5/6 hrs.
Day 09 - Surke to Phakding(2,652m), 4/5 hrs.
Day 10 - Phakding - Namche Bazaar (3440 m), 5/6 hrs.
Day 11 - Acclimatization Day - Namche Bazaar (3,440m).
Day 12 - Namche Bazzar to Tengboche (3,870m), 5/6 hrs.
Day 13 - Tengboche to Dingboche (4,360 m)5/6 hrs.
Day 14 - Dingboche - Duglha (4,600 m), 3/4 hrs.
Day 15 - Duglha - Lobuche (4940 m), 2/4 hours.
Day 16 - Lobuche - Gorak Shep (5170 m) - Everest Base Camp (5364 m) - Gorak Shep, 7/8 hrs
Day 17 - Gorak Shep - Kala Patthar (5555 m/18,192 ft) - Pheriche (4280 m), 7/8 hrs
Day 18 - Pheriche - Pangboche - Tengboche - Namche Bazzar (3,440 m), 5/6 hrs
Day 19 - Namche Bazaar - Lukla (2,800m), 6/8 hrs
Day 20 - Lukla Fly to Kathmandu and transfer to airport.
Day 21 - Final departure transfer to airport.
